Fuel filtration, separation and conditioning systems

Operators report that 90% of diesel and fuel problems are as a result of contaminated fuel ie. solid contamination, microbial growth and moisture.

Diesel bug affects hundreds of vehicles and vessels every year, typically clogging filters and starving the engine of fuel. This may also lead to damage of high pressure pumps and injectors.

The reason for the growth of microbes is due to the presence of moisture in the fuel. All fuel contains some water.

Under normal storage and handling methods, microbes will be present in varying quantities The microbes or “bugs” flourish on the oil/water interface, using the oil as a food source. Ideal breeding conditions: Warm temperatures (30-40°C) eg. Hot Engine rooms and exposed tank environments.
